I'm currently working from my studio near Lamorna in West Penwith, Cornwall. Having explored many themes during my Fine Art Degree at Falmouth School of Art, I have set about following the ones that resonated the most. I continue to work outside when the weather is inspiring or a subject draws me to it. This can sometimes be a particular light at certain times of day, especially at coastal locations. Direct observation has always been important to me, and whilst in that mode, I find that I want to capture as much immediate, visual information that I can in what are usually fairly short and intense painting sessions.

Working in the studio allows for a much more calm and reflective approach to painting subjects and allows me to work on larger paintings.
